What is the project about?
Participants will be askedto submit audio recordingsof expressive reading of long texts(e.g., chapters from a book). The data submitted will be used to train long-form text-to-speech AI systems.

Task Description:
Selected participants will be provided with a set of long texts to read aloud and will need torecord around 3 hours of high-quality audio.
Recordings will be done on our recording platform, following the guidelines.
Instructions and training on how to use the platform as well as project specific guidelines will be provided.

Who is eligible?
To participate you should meet the following qualifying criteria:
– Be over 18 years old.
– Reside in India.
– Be a native speaker of Hindi (India).
– Own or have access to a headset with microphone that can record in 16bits/48kHz (recordings made with a computer microphone will not be accepted).
– Own or have access to a computer that meets the following minimum criteria:
– Minimum Internet speed: 1 Mbps (Megabit per second).
– Minimum Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024 pixels.
– Operating system: Mac OSX 10.12 and later or Windows 10 (64 bits) build 1809 or later.
– Minimum RAM: 8 GB.

Please note you will be asked tosubmit a 1-1.5-minutes audio sample (.mp3 or .wav) for evaluation at the end of this form. You will need to record this sample with the headset that you plan to use for the project. We will analyze this recording sample in order to determine your eligibility for this project.

Where is the project taking place?
This is a fully remote project. You can participate from the comfort of your home.

When is the project taking place?
The project starts in February 2024 and will run until April 2024.
Please note that eligible candidates will be contacted by our team with information regarding the next steps within 2 weeks after their registration.

How much is the compensation?
You will receive 35 USD for successfully completing the project (training and 3 hours of recorded audio delivered and accepted).
All submitted audios will be reviewed by our Quality Assurance team and payment will be provided for fully submitted and approved audio recordings.
As payment methods, we offer PayPal, Gift Card and Wire Transfer.

How long does it take?
We estimate it will take you approximately 7 hours in total to perform the tasks (1 hour for the training and 6 hours to record 3 hours of audio).
