The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead a high-performance group of Software Engineers in Pune and/or Bangalore to deliver cutting edge features for the Data Domain product. To be successful in this role you will need to be an experienced hands-on manager with strong leadership skills and proven success in storage domain/system programming for large, complex, commercial storage systems. Having a file system background would be an added advantage

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and day to day activities of a geographically dispersed engineering team and responsible for the performance engineering of the product.
• Dive into the technical details to ensure appropriate feature performance is ensured.
• Work with product management to understand product requirements and performance impact
• Be an advocate for customer requirements. Lead the team to collaborate with cross-functional teams: QA. Customer Support and Escalation to solve customer issues.
• Provide people management and career development to the team
• Ensure and drive the productivity and efficiency of a geographically dispersed team
• Recruit and attract new talents for the software engineering team to meet the company plan to support multiple concurrent product releases with an aggressive schedule.

Essential Requirements

• Experience in performance engineering in filesystems , storage or backup products is highly desired
• Experience as a hands-on manager in product development in the system space, file system would be an added positive.
• Experience as a hands-on manager with proven success delivering complex features for large, complex, commercial storage systems.
• Thorough understanding of software development and QA processes, principles, and techniques.
• Experience in file system, NAS or enterprise backup storage products
• Excellent communication, collaboration, operational management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• BE in Computer Science or related technical field plus 15+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education; 4+ years managerial/leadership
