About Deloitte Global Trade Advisory (GTA) practice

Global trade is a multi-faceted area that requires a high degree of pragmatic support. Our Deloitte Tax Global Trade Advisory practitioners have a diverse background including legal, accounting, auditing, technology, customs, excise, and import/export compliance. Amongst professional service providers, we are market leaders in delivering import and export compliance, planning, and automation projects.

Our team works together across borders and functions to provide strategic, cost-effective, end-to-end global trade services. Our GTA specialists include lawyers, brokers, export control and compliance specialists, system architects, and integrators who collectively bring a unique mix of functional, technical, and operational know-how.

With more than 600 plus GTA professionals in more than 100 countries, Deloitte provides clients with local country insight while keeping global operations in mind.

Having a special focus to expand this niche GTA practice in India, Deloitte is looking to hire an experienced professional.

As an Assistant Manager in our Tax team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. You will:

· Experience in handling classification assignments;

· Experience in handling post import entry review related work;

· Identification of the customs compliance requirements provided in Indian Customs law and allied laws;

· Advisory, schemes and licensing work in the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and allied customs laws;

· Handling advisory and compliances for SEZ, EOUs, etc. including interaction with the customs and other government authorities.

· Working with our member firms on providing regional or global trade and customs advice to our clients;

· Assist clients in advice relating to core areas such as Customs valuation, Tariff classification, Supply chain structuring, optimizing the use of Free Trade Agreements in global supply chains, assisting clients to achieve Authorised Economic Operator accreditation, etc; and

· Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients in an effort to manage expectations and satisfaction.

Qualifications

· Chartered Accountant/ Lawyer with trade, tax or commercial laws background/ Company Secretary with 1- 2 years of post-qualification professional experience

· Good knowledge of Customs law and other government agency processes and procedures around import/export, law or supply chain management experience.

Desired Skills:

· Knowledge of core trade compliance topics such as HS classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and bonded programs;

· Strong verbal and written communication skills;

· Experience in a fast-paced, highly analytical environment with ability and desire to help shape a new role and flexibly shift and assume responsibilities over time as the role and practice evolves; and

· Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.).

· Strong attention to detail to review complex technical problems, whilst maintaining an overall strategic and customer service focused perspective, for all deliverables we produce for our clients.
