Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for aLead Piping Designerto be located inChennai, India

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all Piping deliverables on the assigned project/ area

• Lead a group of modelers and designers by assigning work and coaching

• Design and Modelling of Piping Layout as per safety Standards

• Modelling of Equipment and finalizing the Nozzle orientation

• Field verification and

• Co-ordinate with other disciplines, clients & vendors

• Vendor drawing review

• Preparation of Piping GA Drawings

• Piping Material Take-off

• Driving the Model Reviews

• Review design and check deliverables as per project requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge in International/Domestic piping codes and Standards

• Knowledge of Non-Critical piping Supports

• Good piping layout concepts

• Design reviews using SPR/ Navisworks

• Must be able to communicate well within the team as well as with other discipline personnel

• Must be willing and able to travel within the US and internationally as required, to sites, other Dow locations, vendor shops and EPC offices

• Must be a self-starter, shall be able to foresee problems, and possess the commitment to meet tight schedules with quality

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a diploma or a degree in mechanical engineering

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in piping layout design for oil and gas or petrochemical projects;

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in 2D drafting using Micro station

• Excellent 3D modeling skills using SP3D
