SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. SQL DBA with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our SQL database environment on AWS and On premises, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security.

What you’ll do:
Administer, maintain, and optimize our SQL database environment

Experience in a 24×7, high traffic OLTP environment

Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for all databases

Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies

Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues

Analyse and tune SQL queries for optimal performance

Manage database security and access controls

Collaborate with other teams to ensure database integrations with applications and other systems

Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in database administration

Who you are:
Bachelor’s in computer science or related technical field or related professional experience

3+ years of experience as a SQL DBA

In-depth knowledge of database administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security

Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL

Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and Bash

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills
