Accessibility testers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

• Evaluating websites using specialized software to determine how easy they are to use by people with disabilities
• Identifying potential problems with products or services that could cause difficulties for people with disabilities
• Conducting physical tests of buildings, including evaluating stairwells, elevators, doorways, and restrooms
• Identifying barriers that make it difficult for people with disabilities to use facilities such as retail stores, restaurants, banks, and concert halls
• Conducting interviews with staff members who interact directly with customers to identify any problems they might have noticed that could be causing frustration or embarrassment for their customers
• Suggesting ways to improve accessibility by identifying possible solutions to identified barriers
