The Staff Cyber Security Engineer is a key member of GE Aerospace Research’s Cybersecurity & Technology Risk Team. This position will be responsible for partnering with the Information Security & Protection Leader for the John F Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) to deliver solutions across the cybersecurity spectrum at this important location in Bangalore, India as well as leading and participating in projects and initiatives supporting GE Aerospace Research globally.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position is integral to the development and operations of IT-Security & Data Protection initiatives at the JFWTC. Primary functions of this position will include:

• Lead and coordinate the GE Aerospace Research Product Cybersecurity program for non-US Export Control projects including policy and procedure updates, process improvements and executive reporting.

• Partner with research teams across the business to ensure compliance to GE Aerospace and GE Aerospace Research Product Cybersecurity policies and procedures.

• Work with peers across the company to ensure alignment with business Product Cyber expectations and participate in GE Aerospace-wide product cybersecurity council.

• Work with global project leaders to ensure timely and successful implementation of all information protection systems and programs

• Coordinate and/or participate in day-to-day cybersecurity operational activities at the JFWTC

• Partner with local and global team members in GE Aerospace Research and across GE Aerospace to deliver secure IT solutions

• Create and/or assist in development of Multi Generation Plans, Goals & Objectives

• Participate in data leakage and policy breach investigations in partnership with Legal and Security Investigations

• Participate in site IT security & compliance audit programs

• Coordinate and/or participate in response for IT-Security & information protection incidents that arise

• Participate in global and local policy and procedure development and ensure they meet the needs of the JFWTC

• Lead Information Protection & IT-Security Awareness activities for the JFWTC

• Ensure information protection & IT-Security programs comply with regulatory requirements

• Participate in and align with GE Aerospace Research and GE Aerospace councils as required.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity and risk at the JFWTC

• Be a change agent and collaborate with cross functional teams and other business representatives as needed

• Interact with vendors and other government agencies, where applicable, for implementing tools.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related discipline

• 6+ years of overall experience in IT operations or projects and 4+ years working directly in the field of Information Security & Data protection

• Clear understanding of IT security practices and how best to integrate them into IT operational and administrative processes and technologies

• Proven experience implementing secure infrastructures and environments

• Experience applying controllership principles and enforcing compliance with local and global policies and regulations

• Exposure to security tools like DLP, end point security tools, including anti-virus, desktop firewall and encryption tools etc.,

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Desired Characteristics:

• Strong process focus, detail oriented

• Security certifications relevant to IT environment

• Technical background in network or system administration, application development, or IT security

• Experience in security and compliance audit programs

• Experience conducting forensically sound investigations

• Experience implementing and running data leakage utilities

• Project management experience

• Experience with ISO27001/2, COBIT; India and US Export Control regulations a plus

• ITIL certification or significant experience implementing ITIL

• Proven experience accelerating change

• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of IT Staff located in multiple sites, including proven effectiveness working with global teams
