In transport solutions engineering team we enable to move blades around the world and store them safely.

Design and development of transport and storage solutions for the wind blades, with a deeper understanding of transport and handling issues during various modes of transport. The Senior transport design engineer will be a technical reviewer for the team on their design details, perform and/or verify design calculations and FEA.

Job Description

• End-to-end ownership of transport and storage frame lifecycle for wind turbine blades: requirements, design, development, validation and failure issue resolutions in field.

• Deliver NPI projects working directly with cross functional teams, external suppliers, and internal stake holders.

• Act as a Technical reviewer and/ or signatory authority for concepts & detailed designs of transport equipment developed by internal team members.

• Experienced in design of heavy fabricated steel structural, preferably Transport & storage solutions of wind blades & towers, and with a deep knowledge of heavy structures welding and bolted joints

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools such as Solidworks / NX

• Perform detailed design calculations for transport equipment concepts developed.

• Develop design and process FMEA’s and perform risk analysis

• Perform and/or support RCA using 8D approach and relevant tools.

• Conduct technical discussions on resolving issues and/or gathering technical requirements from external customers.

• Have a deeper understanding of heavy equipment safe lifting and installation procedures and well versed with industry standard design guidelines and international standards

• Have a sound knowledge on DFM & Change management.

• Act as technical coach and mentor for colleagues with less experience. Explains information while developing team members technical skills.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master’s in mechanical/ Industrial engineering

• Minimum 10-15 years of engineering design experience

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

• Take ownership, responsibility, and accountability for actions
