Job Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate time studies for Assembly lines using STDS (Standard time data system) methodology, Motion analysis, Manpower calculation & Line Balancing.
Knowledge on APS (Assembly processing system), APS Supplemental Tools, Man-Machine Chart.
Provide timely support and expertise for current generation Industrial Engineering Tools like IMOS (Integrated Manufacturing Operations System) and MPP (Master process planner) by assessing gaps in current tools and processes.
Coordinate business requirements and issues with IT to define, develop, and test applications used by Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering and plants to support line balancing, GMS, Ergonomics, standard time development, and reporting.
Support application users by assisting with installation, providing guidance about usage, and training.
Creation and maintenance of JES (Job Element Sheets), STD (Standard Time Data), and SOS (Standard Operation Sheets) defining the plant floor assembly process steps for operators
Maintain accurate routings of parts to their assembly location.
Maintain accurate workstation layouts using computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD, Factory cad, Line Designer)
Drive continuous improvement through elimination of waste
Evaluate bottleneck areas and support throughput and productivity improvements in assigned area
Participate in lean manufacturing through implementation of GM’s Global Manufacturing System
Support implementation and training for standardized work development
Drive problem solving efforts
Work collaboratively as one team with all levels of the organization
Develop relationships with Production department and related personnel
Implement common Industrial Engineering business practices and processes
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering/Technical discipline or equivalent experience
Strong experience working in manufacturing with a background in continuous improvement
Experience in documentation of standardized work procedures
Experience in implementation of lean manufacturing concepts
Knowledge of time study and motion analysis
Self-motivated individual with continuous improvement focus
Strong oral & written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of human factors engineering / ergonomic analysis
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of computer aided drafting tools (AutoCAD / Factory CAD / Line Designer / Flow Planner)
Ability to adapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods
Project management and time management skills
