About the role

Chemical Engineer/ Degree holder with adequate experience in handling chemical plant operations at various locations. Leader with demonstrated experience of 15+ years handling multiple plants for the last 5 years, overseeing end-to-end plant operations, covering Production, Maintenance, Quality, Delivery and Safety

The incumbent will be heading Operations at single / multiple factories of Astec Life Sciences, based in Mahad.

• Overall in charge of Planning, Organizing, Staffing and directing operation of plants at various locations. Responsible for all operational results.
• Accountable for achieving Production, Maintenance, Delivery, Quality and Safety targets.
• Developing/ implementing long range Production Strategies, productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives
• Expertise in validation process and major trouble shooting.
• Ensure continuous improvement of technology, product quality, safety and environment.
• Be a diplomatic interface with Government/ Statutory authorities. Responsible for fulfilling all the government compliance obligations
• Productivity Improvement and Cost Reduction through innovative ideas.
• Should develop, manage and lead a team of professionals and engage them for high performance.
• Assist ED in defining/formulating HSE Policies.
• Ensure deployment of competent & engaged manpower.
• Assist the Occupier for compliance of responsibilities as prescribed under the Factories Act.
• Reports to : Chief Operating Officer, Astec
• Direct Reports : Factory Managers, Maintenance Managers, EHS managers, QA/QC Managers, Supply chain Managers, Factory HR Managers and extended teams
• Represent the organization on various National / International / Voluntary bodies etc. on HSE matters.
• External communication

Education:

Chemical Engineer is a MUST

Experience:

Leader with demonstrated experience of 15+ years handling multiple plants for the last 5 years, overseeing end-to-end plant operations, covering Production, Maintenance, Quality, Delivery and Safety.

Innovation & continuous improvement mindset, cost optimization experience, strong problem solving skills and long term strategic mindset.

Expertise in validation process and well versed with ISO 9000, QMS 14001 and OSHAS 18001.

Strong problem solving, good communication skills and leadership qualities, as per Godrej Leadership Competencies.
