Operations individuals are critical thinkers who partner with groups across the firm to ensure accurate tax withholding and reporting for the firm and our clients. You will assist in creating and supporting scalable processes to support the firms global business segments in Global Banking & Markets, Asset & Wealth Management, and Platform Solutions.

Tax Operations is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the firm’s compliance with tax reporting authorities around the globe and managing related inquiries from a variety of the firm’s business segments across Global Banking & Markets, Asset & Wealth Management, and Platform Solutions. Day-to-day team functions include accurate and timely account documentation and monitoring of withholding; reviewing and responding to firm inquiries around unique tax situations related to knowledge of EMEA regulations to create / perform and review EMEA Tax reclaim documentation (ideally both long form and relief at source options). We also review market updates to evaluate tax impact and outline operational proposals as to how we should adapt to that change.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role provides an opportunity to broaden product and market experience and develop skills across a broad range of topics. The role gives solid exposure to senior stakeholders providing excellent opportunities for career progression. You will act as a risk manager for the firm through ongoing assessment and awareness of the tax regulatory environment and the firm’s adherence to its regulatory obligations.

Industrialise and automate processes and ensure effective controls are implemented.

Perform impact assessments on tax processes for new markets, new products, business reorganizations, system changes and new/changed tax regulations.

Perform review of EMEA Tax reclaim documentation.

Review and interpret market updates to evaluate tax impact and outline operational proposals as to how we should adapt to that change.

Partner with key stakeholders within Operations, Trading, Corporate Tax and Technology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum three to four years post graduate experience in a similar role in Operations.

Strong analytical, problem solving and documentation skills with an ability to understand complex workflows.

Results orientated – ability to balance multiple, time-sensitive projects while maintaining a longer term, strategic focus.

Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence senior business stakeholders and make decisions.

Strong attention to detail.

Proactive and self-starting individual with high level of ownership

Flexibility and ability to learn quickly.

Strong data analysis skills

Intermediate/advanced Excel skills essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

SQL and Alteryx skills

Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment.

Possesses a good understanding of client types, relevant markets, products, processes, regulations and systems required to achieve business objectives.

Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the economics that underlie transactions or processes being performed.

Proactively seeks and undertakes appropriate training to further enhance client / market / industry knowledge.

Exposure to tax regulations change management initiatives.

Responsible for executing business processes that support essential functions of the organization, ensure client deliverables, achieve organizations standards and help solve operational issues.
