Key Responsibilities:

Retail Outlet Legal Compliance & Licensing:

• Conduct property due diligence for new retail outlets and warehouses.
• Draft, review, and negotiate lease deeds and leave & license agreements.
• Obtain and renew retail outlet licenses, including Trade License, Shop & Establishment License, FSSAI Registration/Licensing
• Liaise with FSSAI, legal metrology officers, and municipal/local authorities.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure ongoing compliance with FSSAI regulations (packaging, labelling, marketing, etc.)
• Legal Metrology Act (packaged commodity rules, declarations, weights & measures)
• State and central regulations related to food products and e-commerce.
• Handle inspections and replies to regulatory notices.

Contract Management:

• Draft and vet routine commercial contracts such as Warehouse Service Agreements, Logistics and Courier Agreements, E-commerce and third-party platform Agreements, Vendor and Supplier Agreements

Advisory & Internal Support

• Provide day-to-day legal advice to the business teams.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels on specialized matters.
• Assist in maintaining legal documentation and compliance trackers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); candidates with specialization in corporate/commercial laws preferred.
• 1–3 years of post-qualification experience.
• Prior experience in regulatory and licensing matters related to retail or food industry is a must.
• Good knowledge of FSSAI, Legal Metrology, and local licensing laws.

Skills Required:

• Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to independently handle government liaisoning and compliance matters.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks.
