Markets & Securities Services (MSS)
Markets & Securities Services enables HSBC’s corporate and institutional clients to access financial markets and liquidity, unlock investment opportunities, manage risk and transact seamlessly. This is done by bringing together financing solutions viz. sales, trading and distribution across multiple asset classes; research; clearing and settlement; global and direct custody; and asset servicing. The Global Debt Market (GDM) unit in MSS combines trading in Credit, G10 Sovereign Debt and Structured & Index Products.

HSBC MSS has established offshore capability in Bangalore to support Front Office globally. As part of this Bangalore MSS is seen as the 4th hub of HSBC after London, New York and Hong Kong. The Bangalore MSS team works across different product groups (FX, Equities, Rates, Credit) in diverse functions which include Quants, Structuring, Trading Algorithm design, Trading Analytics, Financing, Institutional & Corporate Sales services, Platform Servicing, COO, Controls etc.

CRM Support is a function that has been set up to provide support to Users of the key CRM application used within Global Markets, namely ClientMax / Mosaic . Mosaic is the new Global Markets CRM Tool which has replaced ClientMax – which helps to achieve and develop ongoing, profitable Client relationships and is developed to serve the Markets users to meet their objectives and provide complete relationship view of a Client to the Top management.
Mosaic is integrated with CSPMI which provides the revenue information of Global Markets Products – MI360 collects the trade data from bank’s front end trading systems and reflects in different dashboards, CUPID dashboard is the primary source used by GM users to check the regular trade activities and revenues associated to a Client using Qlikview. CSPMI has been created to have one Global Sales Revenue Reporting dashboard which would replace CUPID dashboard for all the regions.
Role requires people with strong data management, data analysis and Strong MI Skills. The right candidate should have evidenced a Values led approach in their current role and achievements.
Communication (MUST HAVES): –
Ability to diffuse the internal user in times of heated conversation is very important. Ability to articulate thoughts in meaningful conversation both email and verbal absolutely important. Ability to Multitask 2 applications in a high demand enjoinment is very important.
What you’ii do:
Leadership & Teamwork :
- Process Training – Monitor progress made by the trainees to achieve required proficiency during the training period in line with the Learning Curve for the process. And send updates on a weekly basis to the Managers on the progress of training.
- Mentor, develop and motivate/provide feedback to the team members to align and meet the business objectives
- Responsible for driving and managing initiatives – Theme based learnings, seminars, presentations etc.
- Maintain exceptionally high service standards and strive to constantly meet and exceed highly challenging PLA parameters in some cases within 4 Hrs.
- Manage capacity on the floor by efficient leave utilization for self and the team
- Maintain balance between Quality, productivity and strive towards increasing the Business to changes.
- Identify training needs and ensure development through various training courses available.
- Working well with individuals within and between departments’ thus encouraging teamwork within and outside the team.
- Result oriented and flexible to change.
- Identify and escalate potential showstoppers.
- Share information, knowledge and ideas with the wider global team
- Assist in upholding the team by being highly specialized and diverse effective team member through clear, concise and effective communication.
Operational Effectiveness and Control :
- To be aware of all elements of operational risks associated with the process.
- To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of Audit Points.
- Be aware of the Group Compliance policy within processes and be audit ready at all times.
- Ensure all processes are fully compliant to relevant HSBC policies on Information Security and Data Protection. Partner with local and onshore Compliance teams where necessary to achieve this.
- Ensure that PAD’s and other documents are duly signed off by the team members and records maintained.
- Responsible for successful Audit along with the Managers – work effectively to close any audit points.
- Be aware of the team’s BCP plans and work with the business to evaluate this on a regular basis
Process – Mosaic and CPMI
- First Line of Support for all Mosaic, SVCS, Research and Dealogic Queries
- Setting up User profile post GSR completion with phone numbers, Jurisdiction details and additional privileges as requested.
- Creation of Clients on the application and all types of Client amendments.
- Handle all queries on Hotline and Chat Support – 19/5 Coverage Model
- Sending comms on any new feature and any issues with performance of the application by liaising with Mosaic IT and Development Team.
- Trouble shoot production issues as first line of Support.
- Provide training to Users when requested via webex sessions.
- Reports/extracts – Provide timely report for Data Segmentation.
- Work closely with the IT Teams, Mosaic Development and Product Owner on any new upgrades, releases and production issues.
- Handle any huge data cleansing tasks for Client Data Segmentation
- Responsible to manage Client contributions to revenue within Global Markets across entities for FX product, FX options and Money Markets.
- Update Clients and salesperson data in system to capture Transaction Value (TV) for each client and coverage rules for each Salespersons. Data feeds into Evolve (Sales Cockpit) which is used to check clients as well as Salesperson performance.
- To make sure sales revenues are allocated to respective Sales Teams and Clients

Role requires people with strong technical knowledge on the platform as the role requires trouble shooting and the individual should be aware of the design on how Symphony works on desktop, Mobile App, Browser and sensitivity around Network issues etc. The right candidate should have evidenced a Values led approach in their current role and achievements.
Process – Symphony
- First Line of Support for all Symphony related queries on Desktop, Browser and Mobile.
- Trouble shoot any issues as a first line of support
- Providing MI on Markets Commentary.
- Handle all queries on Chat Room and Emails providing a 19/5 Coverage model.
- Provide demos to new users on Symphony via webex.
- Handle UAT post Symphony release and provide sign off.
- Liaise with Symphony Technical Support and Vendor Team to work on the tickets raised for technical issue.
- Handle huge Chat room creations.
- Handle queries around signals and wall post.
- Work closely with the Product Owner on the next upgrades and new features on Symphony.
- Handle queries on GSR for access and updating profile.
- Handle Queries on Data Archive and Chat History
- Handle queries on BYOD supported by Symphony
- Understanding of Mobile platforms like iOS and Android and its features are important to trouble shoot user issues
- Handle queries related to “Symphony Message Suppression”
Qualifications
Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

Management of Risk (Control of Information)
Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing regulatory, economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology. Uses initiative and independent judgement on a daily basis to analyse, problem solve and proactively respond to sales, trader and client queries and requests from senior management. Must have ability to make decision on need-to-know basis.
Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.
Knowledge :
- An overall understanding of Global Banking and Markets knowledge – – including products, coverage model, overall strategy in relation to Client Relationship Management
- Demonstrated working knowledge of adhoc reporting, such as ad hoc MI extraction, and creation of PowerPoint packs for management reporting
- Proven experience in data management and data analysis wrt excel and/or access
- Strong MI Skills – Must have at least one-year experience and skills in preparing MI reports
- It is essential that the candidate has an aptitude to deliver accurate MI/reports/data within given schedules
- Exposure to change management – to proactively embrace change and work with business and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition where required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Significant experience dealing with onshore business partners
- Excellent MS Office Skills – specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding the elements of TESTING applications in UAT and hand-holding till Production live
