You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

As an IBM Data Platform Architect, you will directly help clients transform their business and solve complex data problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized data solutions using your knowledge of cloud data platforms. You will work as technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build and test data platform solutions to meet and exceed expectations
• Apply architectural standards/principles, security standards, usability design standards, as appropriate.
• Design and implementation of data platform solutions on Azure cloud – delivering greenfield Data Platform modernizations and Data Integration applications to handle batch and Realtime data feeds
• Developing use cases and solution outlines to support different business scenarios
• Leveraging latest Azure related data technology stack for design and build phase of new solutions
• Lead and support technical decisions
• Size and develop / validate physical architecture of data platform
• Support data governance and metadata management activities
• Design and developing data migration methods
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full lifecycle

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10+ years of strong background in data architecture, design and development using Azure components
• Programming languages – Python/Py-Spark
• Experience with Azure:
  • ADLS
  • Databricks
  • Stream Analytics
  • SQL DW
  • COSMOS DB
  • Analysis Services
  • Azure Functions
  • Serverless Architecture
  • ARM Templates
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra.
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, SQL, Scala, Spark-SQL etc.
• Nice to have experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Nice to have experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
• Nice to have experience with stream-processing systems
• Exposure to other clouds AWS, Google and IBM

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Database: SQL DB
• Programming languages: PL/SQL, Spark SQL
• Data Warehousing experience with strong domain knowledge & experience working as a Technical Hands-on lead
