Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM X-Force Exchange is seeking an experienced Snr. DevOps engineer who is passionate about Platform Development, DevOps, and Continuous Integration. You will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of. A successful candidate should be a strong collaborator, have a willingness to learn and more importantly adopt best practices.

As a Snr. DevOps Engineer in the X-Force Exchange you will work in a multi-cloud environment. You will use open-source DevOps tools (build and deploy automation, monitoring and data gathering for our software delivery pipeline). You will also be contributing to our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing maturity of DevOps and our agile adoption practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong Industry experience with Kubernetes & OpenShift is a must.

• Strong development skills in one of more languages, primarily, Python, Bash, Go, Nodejs.

• Industry experience developing & deploying micro-services-based platforms based on RESTful APIs.

• Industry experience working with, developing, and managing CI/CD pipelines

• Industry experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker.

• Industry experience with Database (no-SQL)

• Experience developing in a service-oriented Cloud environment, such as Amazon AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, or others.

• Ability to work with other geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years in software development and delivery.

• Experience using & building containers and containerized applications.

• Experience in DevOps tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

• Experience in DevOps monitoring and analytics

• Demonstrable experience with application software and solution scalability, security, monitoring and performance.
