ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic Indian Nationals for the position of ‘Senior Officer –Purchase’. The incumbent will be based at ICRISAT Headquarters in Patancheru, Telangana State, India and report to Head of Purchase, Supply and Disposal Services. • Oversee purchase & servicing of farm equipment, laboratory equipment and consumables, POL, automobile spares, IT equipment, furniture, food & beverages, office equipment & stationary
• Evaluate and issue POs for all services including HR and legal consultancy, civil & electrical work

Responsibilities:

• Ensures consistency and integrity of all transactions & processes with rules and procedures pertaining to all domains of Purchase including tendering, vendor selection, costing and PO generation
• Evaluates vendor against organization requirements
• Apprises research and FES about vendor limitations
• Applies strategic costing to evaluate cost of assets and services
• Interact with researcher and FES to a) ascertain asset specification and b) vendor selection
• Coordinate with vendors for delivery, services and issue resolution
• Communicate with operations and logistics to ensure seamless movement of goods and vendor staff inside ICRISAT
• Interact with store staff for receipt and updation of new assets in system
• Interact with finance for vendor payment and budget
• Ensure timely and cost effective delivery of assets, material and services
• Arrange for installation, commissioning and training for new equipment.
• Process vendor payment
• Maintaining all records pertaining to purchase
• Finalize rate contracts and AMCs

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Vendor Management
• Should have worked in a similar role in the past
• Experience in strategic costing in automobile / engineering equipment / manufacturing sector
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• Excellent verbal and written Communication
• Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
• Hands on experience in budgeting and purchasing management.
• Should possess good negotiations, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Working knowledge of ERP software is a must
