Job Description: Director – Regulatory Compliance (Airline Industry)

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Director of Regulatory Compliance to lead and oversee compliance programs within our airline operations. This role ensures adherence to aviation regulations, safety standards, and legal frameworks while mitigating risks and maintaining the highest levels of regulatory integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage the regulatory compliance framework for the airline.
• Ensure compliance with DGCA, IATA, FAA, EASA, ICAO, and other relevant aviation authorities.
• Monitor regulatory updates and ensure the airline’s policies, procedures, and operations align with changing regulations.
• Act as the primary liaison between the airline and aviation regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry associations.
• Lead compliance audits, risk assessments, and internal investigations related to aviation safety and regulatory adherence.
• Oversee compliance training programs for employees, ensuring awareness of regulatory requirements and ethical practices.
• Work closely with legal, safety, and operational teams to mitigate risks and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure documentation, record-keeping, and reporting of compliance activities meet international and local aviation standards.
• Represent the airline in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and policy-making engagements.
• Develop strategies to handle regulatory challenges, including enforcement actions, penalties, or legal disputes.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 12-15 years in aviation regulatory compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aviation, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certifications: Compliance-related certifications (e.g., ICAO Safety Management Systems, IATA Aviation Law, or equivalent) are preferred.
• Skills & Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of global and local aviation regulations (DGCA, FAA, EASA, ICAO, IATA).
• Strong understanding of aviation safety, airline operations, and risk management.
• Ability to handle regulatory audits, enforcement actions, and legal compliance issues.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with government bodies, regulators, and airline industry groups.
