Lead CAD Systems Analyst

(Engineering IT – CAD/CAE Apps Administration and Support)

Ingersoll Rand Global Engineering IT team is seeking a CAD System Administrator to maintain CAD/CAE systems and support Global engineering users. The candidate will be based in India and support Europe/USA users during US working hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administers, maintains and evaluates CAD/CAE and other Engineering design applications and related system management and maintenance.

Installation, configuration, and support of CAD/CAE applications in Client systems.

Maintain license servers, monitor license availability, generate license utilization report, analyze and optimize license requirement

Support and Administration of CAD Data vaults, PLM-CAD integrations and provide functional support for CAD data migrations.

Troubleshoots and resolves system problems, incidents/requests, ensure SLA adherence and improve user experience and satisfaction.

Works proactively to identify root cause and recommends/ implements preventative solutions.

Collaborate with software vendors, extended IT teams to resolve technical issues.

Evaluate and validate new software releases and upgrade user systems. Identifies and analyzes system and user needs, as well as hardware requirements

Create system and user documentation, including best practices, policies and procedures.

Develops and delivers user training and presentations on new systems and upgrades.

Coordinates and/or performs software and operating system maintenance on CAD workstations and servers.

Adheres to global IT standards, policies and procedures and coordinate related activities with global IT teams.

Develop effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Education: Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred) or any other Engineering discipline.

Experience: 7 to 12 years of overall experience in Engineering CAD/CAE Applications administration and end user support in a global product design environment.

o At least 3 years hands on experience in Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM integrated systems

o At least 1-year hands on experience in Windchill WGM – Multi CAD (Inventor/Solidworks) Integrations

o At least 1-year hands on experience in ANSYS HPC management and configurations.

o Programing experience in Java, VB.Net, Python will be an added advantage.

Excellent working experience in maintaining major CAD/CAE applications such as ANSYS, PTC Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, Solid works, Siemens NX, Eplan and MATLAB

Excellent working experience in FlexLM License Manager Configurations, Windows/ Linux OS

Experience with Autodesk CAD Vault Server management, Primary- Replica server configurations

Experience in CAD Data Management and migrations.

Expertise in understanding of License features and product mapping, generating license utilization reports from server logs.

Ability to seek, evaluate, compare, and document new software versions

A good understand of, and experience with, CAD Modelling standards, Engineering change management processes, engineering drawing, product design using Creo Parametric.

Basic understanding of SQL servers, Oracle Database configuration in Product Data management.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills, including hardware, software and basic networking.

Apply critical thinking and collaborative approaches to improving services and solving technical challenges.

Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills in order to relate well with a diverse group of end users, including coworkers, vendors.

Ability to effectively document processes. Outstanding written communication skills using both technical and nontechnical terminology

Ability to set priorities and manage own workload, manage multiple tasks simultaneously

WORK SHIFT: Flexibility to work on Day and Night shifts. (Position will rotate shifts monthly)

LOCATION: Chennai or Bangalore
