About The Role

As we invest in our growth, we’re looking for a talented Associate Vice President (AVP) of Technology based out of our Mumbai office who has experience in banking, payments and working in regulated industries with excellent technical skills and sound business acumen.

The AVP of Technology is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, development, and management of the organisation’s technology initiatives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership skills to drive innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness across the technology landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and communicate the organization’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business goals and objectives
• Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate technology into overall business planning and decision-making processes
• Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and their potential impact on the organization’s operations and competitive positioning.

Technology Governance and Compliance

• Establish and enforce technology policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Oversee risk management and cybersecurity initiatives to protect the organization’s assets and data from potential threats and breaches
• Ensure the ethical and responsible use of technology in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines

IT Operations and Infrastructure

• Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services
• Lead IT operations teams in delivering reliable, secure, and high-performance technology services to support business operations
• Optimize IT processes and workflows to improve efficiency, agility, and cost-effectiveness

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and service providers
• Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing agreements to optimize value and minimize risk
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, regulators, and industry partners.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the technology organization, including managers, engineers, architects, and support staff
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to empower team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to build a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the broader community

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing technology strategy, operations, and innovation within a complex organization
• Deep technical expertise across a broad range of technology domains, including cloud infrastructure, applications, data management, and cybersecurity
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and priorities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change, and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, government) and familiarity with industry-specific compliance requirements and standards is a plus
• Strong understanding of payment systems, FX markets, trading platforms, and associated technologies
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships
• Knowledge of SWIFT will be an added advantage
