Full Job Description
ackup Related Tasks (Veritas NetBackup)

01).Checking the status of the All the policies , replications , duplications etc….

02).Check for the failed jobs , try to restart them and then do the trouble shooting as needed.

Inform the concerned stake holder if it is needed

03).Managing the tapes, tape duplications and tape library , Tape drive (Vaulting,loading, maintenance etc…)

04).Capacity Management of Backup devices

05).Perform the regular upgrades , patching for backup devices

06).Perform the regular restore tests (from tapes, appliance disks, from AIR site)

07).Documentation and regular reporting

08).Manage daily tickets

09).New project planning , design and implementation as per the new demands and manage the budgeting as well ..

10).Adhere to change management process during the changes in backup infra.

11).Regularly check for the alerts in Backup infra and act accordingly ..

12).Impliment new backup policies as per the demand ..

12).Device warranty contract managment and check for new requirements as per the demand.

13).Check the Hardware health of the backup and related devices ..

14).Co operate with the Different teams and vednors for the replacements / new device installations etc..

15).Study the demands and try to incorporate them ..

16).Study the new features in Backup area and try to implement them if it benifits to organisation and highlight them to team and involve the management incase purchase is required

Storage Related Task (Dell Isilon, Hitachi, Pure Storage)

01).Checking the status of Jenkin jobs and alerts daily for NAS infra and act accordingly..

02).Check for the alerts and event messages in Devices and act accordingly.

03).Check for the alerts in SAN infra and act accordingly.

04).Check for the hardware health of the NAS and SAN devices regularly and act accordingly

05).Oftenly manage the Cofo

06).Perform the regular upgrades/patching in SAN and NAS infra as team decides.

07).Impliment the new projects and perform the planning , design and plan the migrations for SAN and NAS infra for organizational benifits.

08).Trouble shooting of different issues in SAN and NAS infra .

09).Manage the dialy tickets and escalations..

10).Device warranty contract managment and check for new requirements as per the demand.

11).Documentation and reporting

12).Co operate with the Different teams and vednors for the replacements…

13).Study the demands and try to incorporate them (new share setups and capacity managements, storage replication requirements,Budgeting, Planning etc..)

14).Study the new features in NAS and SAN area and try to implement them if it benifits to organisation and highlight them to team and involve the management incase purchase is required ..

15).Co operate with the Different teams and vednors for the replacements / new device installations etc..

16).Adhere to change management process during the changes in SAN and NAS infra ..
