AIX Administrator – Bangalore – 5+ yrs

What you will be doing

Install and maintain up- to-date Operational System software, patch levels, firmware, drivers and related program products
Proficient in infrastructure architecture of large-scale, automated environments
Responsible for participating in the architecture design of the solution then executing the strategy set by architecture.
Technical knowledge and understanding of Data center architecture and technology solutions involving Dell/HP/IBM Servers & Blade servers
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement through innovation and change.
Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis while working in a diverse technology environment

What you bring

Minimum of 5+ plus years of experience in an Linux/AIX environment
In-depth knowledge and experience with PowerHA System Mirror administration, configuration, cluster build, storage addition and filesystem administration, cluster nodes, topologies, networks, and heart beating concepts
Solid understanding of AIX system administration, user administration, file/directory permissions, LVM, maintenance of software and system patches, TCP/IP concepts, NFS, NIS, DNS, storage concepts, performance tuning.
Working experience with PowerVM/VIOS, HMC, Virtualization, LPM, NPIV, SAN-attached storage, NIM (Network Installation Manager)
Experience in Linux/UNIX with System management tools.
Experience in ITSM Help Desk
Installs, maintains and upgrades internal computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing company products.
Controls user access and passwords.
Proposes and implements system enhancements that will improve reliability and performance of system.
Monitors usage and performance.
Trains personnel on system usage.
Troubleshoots server, software and hardware issues.
Assists with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs.
Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.
Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.
Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
Other related duties assigned as needed.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
