About the Opportunity

Are you excited by the opportunity to drive and play a key role in delivering high quality arboriculture and horticultural services within one of Melbourne’s most popular leafy eastern suburbs? We have an excellent opportunity to join our team as Coordinator Urban Forest and City Presentation on a permanent full time basis.

You will co-ordinate maintenance functions relating to the City’s parks, gardens and streetscapes that presents the city in a way that builds community pride . Contribute to Council’s climate response plan by growing the urban tree canopy through the new tree planting program and management of all Council trees in a environmentally sustainable manner.

Bring your passion for excellence in customer service, managing change and continuous improvement into this challenging role. You will be required to implement best practice work processes and methods. Pride in your work, an excellent work ethic and demonstration of Our Values, will be essential.

Remuneration for this position will be Band 8, $115230.44 – $129377.60 plus 10% superannuation.

What you will need to thrive

Highly skilled in Horticulture disciplines including tree management and renewal programs, park management and urban horticulture.

Broad knowledge in Local Government horticultural activities

Knowledge of applicable legislation influencing this position including Local Government Act, Electricity Act and the OH&S Act (Prepare Electric Line Clearance Plan etc).

Broad range of current IT based applications.

Sound understanding of budget and financial process in local government including contract administration.

Broad experience in business management.

Understanding of legal, socio economic and political context of the organization.
