This position is a remote sysadmin type of position specializing in MSSQL Database support. In this position the candidate will work for Danish clients on Database support as part of the client squad with primary work involving the database administration, migrations and setup of database environments across heterogeneous platforms .
The position will participate in team or company projects as required, maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of existing best practices in database technology, provide on-call support, and also migrations, DB architecture design, and implementation, and capacity planning. This position may also support the management of backup & recovery, replication and high availability features. Additional responsibilities include: improvement of database integrity through quality assurance and managing change control processes related the database environment.
Work as a collaborative member in a client squad. The following key activities may also be included:

Migrations, moves and cloning of databases and environments.
Technical Configuration changes of database environments.
Configuration / Management of HA and DR capabilities in database environments, including replication and clustering technologies.
Testing of Replication, Backup and Recovery (including Disaster Recovery).
Performance tuning, alerting & monitoring, server configuration.
Assessment and analysis of database environments.
Participate in capacity management and planning activities.
Platform layout changes for database hosting.
Implement and utilize the Release and Change Management as well as other ITIL processes.
Working with application developers to integrate efforts with relational databases.
Database Reporting.

2+ years experience in MSSQL Database administration
good knowledge of SQL for MSSQL,
extensive experience with MSSQL Server Installation, configuring and troubleshooting
good knowledge of MSSQL Server High Availability Features (FCI, Alwayson)
Solid knowledge in the following areas: Windows, Networking, Clustering, T-SQL
fluent English
Experience with Ticket handling (Incident, Change, Problem)
Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Willing to learn new technologies
Fast adaptation to the continuously changing environments
Excellent team-player, but able to work on your own
Willing to work in on-call duty after the trial period ends

• Experiences with other DB technologies is an advantage
