Requirements gathering and drive complete ownership of projects (conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation) including Technical decision making

Designs parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings/plating’s. Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured in accordance with performance and cost objectives.

Ensures documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.) as well as best known methods for GD&T; accordingly, demonstrates knowledge and ability to properly utilize them.

Performs analytical work in order to characterize and properly specify new and existing designs, including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics and manufacturability.

Develops and execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.

Develops and presents reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at design reviews.

Close interactions with suppliers and other Lam internal departments to ensure reception of high quality, well tested and cost optimized solutions for the defined requirements.

Will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom mechanical tooling, fixturing and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly and/or disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle.

Provide immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process

Establishes standards across all operational processes.

Prepares all required deliverables requested by product development plan (e.g. FMEA, technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, design review presentations)

Minimum Qualifications

Educational Qualification: B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech (Mechanical/Production)

Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant work experience; or

Mechanical Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience

Design experience of parts and assemblies involving thermal problems (Ex- Engine and exhaust system of Automobile, Boiler Design etc)

Experience in design for testing and handling test setups

Knowledge of high temp application materials and material properties, Coating etc (Ex- ceramic, Aluminum alloy etc)

Experience in analyzing creep failures

Proficiency in Mechanical design from first principles. Expertise in flow, Thermal and structural hand calculations and simulations (Conduction, Convection, Heat dissipation etc)

System or sub-system knowledge comprising sensors, controls, electrical components etc.

Experience in fabrication of Ceramics, Aluminum alloys etc.

Interpretation of Test result and modelling result in relation to hardware design.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to perform simple and medium complex stress analysis, Thermal analysis using software like NASTRAN/other simulation software

Knowledge of Python programming language.

Basic understanding of Gases used in Semiconductor modules. Knowledge of hazardous and toxic gases & Safety practices will be added advantage

Knowledge of Vacuum Technology will be an added advantage

Knowledge and exposure to ANSI, ASME, SAE, ISO standards applicable to semiconductor industry or equivalent standard

Skills in MATLAB and Simulink

Knowledge of MS Office
