The ‘Precast Works Competency Centre’ (PWCC) operates as a capability-based competency centre as part of a strategic initiative of L&T Construction Group. The Initiative is geared towards enhancing the long-term growth prospects and fulfilling the business needs of the L& T Construction Group. The centre focuses on improving efficiency and timely execution, fostering innovation, adopting futuristic technologies, building functional expertise and embracing digital technologies. As an Engineer within PWCC, your role will be pivotal in design efficiency, conducting peer reviews for standardization and contributing R&D efforts for innovation.

A candidate with robust and versatile design experience, coupled with a clear engineering design concept and a proven track record in various tall buildings and/or major infrastructure projects in Precast Construction, is essential. They should have designed projects from inception to completion, including LRSS, Foundation, Superstructure, Connections, Structural and Non-Structural Components. Additionally, proficiency in digital tools is paramount, particularly in finite element analysis with ETABS and STAAD, along with component level analysis using advanced FEA software such as ABAQUS, Ansys or DIANA FEA. Proficiency with engineering tools like MathCAD, Excel, and MS Office products is highly desirable.

• Build proposal for Structural System/Framing to adopt Precast construction
• Concept development and design philosophy verification
• Construction friendly design approach
• Complete LLRS design for preliminary as well as detailed analysis
• Prepare budgetary design BoQs
• Interact with Internal and External clients to present and convert proposals
• Peer Review (verification of design and detailing of elements and connections)
• Review assigned projects from L&T construction IC in the areas of buildings and infrastructure projects. To ensure accuracy, standardization and structural integrity in permanent as well as construction phases.
• Finite element modelling of various design elements involved in precast construction for both permanent and temporary design. Micro level modelling and analysis of connections, moulds, lifting devices to explore value engineering
• Research and development related to precast and its application.
• Evaluation of modern materials as well as methodologies
• Explore value engineering areas beyond the conventional wisdom to build cost effective micro solutions, develop suitable test programs, analyse and review reports that will aid design efficiency
• Site Interaction and Inspections
• Visit various sites frequently for a first hand understanding of challenges and evaluation of performance of adopted solutions.
• Focus on continual marginal improvement in design and execution
