About the Role

The Automobile Works Manager will oversee the smooth functioning of the automobile workshop, ensuring operational efficiency, high-quality repairs, and exceptional customer service. You will lead a skilled team of technicians, manage workshop resources, maintain safety and quality standards, and deliver outstanding service to our customers while driving continuous improvement in all aspects of workshop operations.

Responsibilities

Managing Workshop Operations:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Maruti Suzuki workshop, ensuring timely and quality vehicle repairs and servicing.
• Supervise and manage the repair and maintenance process, ensuring adherence to Maruti Suzuki’s high standards of quality and performance.
• Team Leadership and Management:
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians, mechanics, and other workshop staff to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance on career development, training, and skill enhancement for all team members.

• Quality Control and Assurance:
• Ensure all repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance work are conducted in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Regularly inspect vehicles, manage diagnostic processes, and implement corrective actions to guarantee high-quality service delivery.

• Inventory and Resource Management:
• Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to maintain sufficient stock levels and ensure smooth workshop operations.
• Ensure proper maintenance and usage of equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.

• Customer Interaction and Service Excellence:
• Interact directly with customers to understand their vehicle issues, provide estimates, and ensure complete satisfaction with service.
• Address and resolve any customer concerns or complaints promptly to maintain a high level of customer loyalty.

• Budgeting and Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the workshop’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective operations.
• Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to optimize costs and enhance profitability.

• Compliance with Safety and Regulations:
• Ensure all workshop activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, and maintain high safety standards.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all staff adhere to safety protocols and practices.

• Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used for each vehicle.
• Generate regular reports on workshop performance, repair schedules, and diagnostics for senior management.

• Scheduling and Workload Management:
• Organize the daily work schedule for technicians and assign tasks based on priority, skill sets, and expertise.
• Ensure timely completion of repair tasks without compromising quality, meeting all deadlines and customer expectations.

• Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive technology and industry trends.
• Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes, productivity, customer service, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience working with Maruti Suzuki in workshop management, repair, or servicing. Previous managerial experience in the automobile sector, with a strong focus on Maruti Suzuki models, is a must.
