• The SW Engineer II will be a member of the Engineering RD team working on the development and support of medical devices. Works closely with other members of the engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems.

A Day in the Life

• Work within the Medtronic-Covidien RD engineering team to develop and support the launch and next-generation robotically assisted minimally invasive surgical platform.

• Focus on graphical user interface software development.

• Translate written requirements into a well-designed implementation.

PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to the Sr. Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Manager

• Accountable to Project Manager(s) for project-related responsibilities

• Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines, particularly hardware engineers, to develop project requirements and other project artifacts such as project schedules. Possible interaction with clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors and other users.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years of experience with GUI development using QT/QML.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

• Experience implementing GUIs, and/or graphics and rendering.

• Experience with Qt and/or QML.

• Moderate level of C++ (C++11 or newer) experience.

• Proficiency in developing software on Linux and Windows.

• The ability to write and communicate ideas clearly in correspondences and design documents.

• A commitment to solid, high-quality code; experience with writing, running, and analyzing unit tests preferred.

• Experience with revision control software such as git.

EDUCATION

• Required: – B.E or B.Tech in Computers , Electronics or Electrical.

• Preferred: – M.E or M.Tech in Computers , Electronics or Electrical.
