Title: NOC Systems Administrator II Location: Bengaluru, India
NOC Systems Administrator plays a critical role in completing our mission every day by ensuring that Pampered Chef’s critical services and infrastructure are available. The NOC Engineer must lead incident response with communications, root cause analysis, monitoring gap assessments and maintain accurate runbooks and documentation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide monitoring coverage and serve as first level response to any alerts.
Lead monitoring & incident response program
When responding to alerts, runbooks must be followed to troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore impacted services as quickly as possible
If service restoration cannot be achieved, the NOC resource must escalate to the documented team/department
Gather information as 2nd level support responds to the alert.
If alerts indicate there is an incident (there is defined criteria to declare an incident), this person must send communications to stakeholders.
Strong communication skills to be able to send communication through the entirety of the incident (start to finish)
Drive teams to identify the root cause of an incident and document it.
Maintain and update runbooks as new information is provided or as systems/processes evolve
Identify gaps in runbooks and escalate for additional information
Participate in code deployments, which are documented in runbooks
Participate in monitoring tool maintenance, creation of new monitors and alerts
Perform monitoring audits
24×7 monitoring of alerts, on-call escalation, opening bridges
Monitor and run batch job schedules, create schedules, coordinate changes updates with application teams
Experience resolving client requests in a timely manner using strong troubleshooting skills
Proficient knowledge on monitoring network uptime and performance, security, redundancy.
Understanding of one or more operating systems (Microsoft/Linux) is desirable
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols
Oversee and manage the functionality of applications, batch processes, networks and infrastructure components ensuring the highest possible availability and drive timely resolution of incidents or technical escalations to meet established SLAs.
Timely triage and escalation of issues to the appropriate support teams, validating proper severity and taking appropriate actions.
Immediate error detection and effective troubleshooting using available tools to ensure critical incidents are identified and resolved with minimal time lost.
Identify and research recurring issues and work closely with platform owners and support teams on long-term remediation plans.
Be aware of the monitoring tools and significance of each monitor
Be comfortable following the incident management process
Start leading incidents based on what you ve learned and the processes that are in place
Must have good experience of ITSM Tool
Excellent time management, organizational, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills
Flexible to work at any hours as per business requirements.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Good Understanding of Monitoring Dashboard and Alert Management
Must have knowledge of DataCentre Operation processes
Critical Incident management, coordinating bridges, engaging resources, sending out and tracking updates of P1 incidents
Basic Linux skills
IT troubleshooting skills and communication
Must have good experience of ITSM Tool Management and oversight of offsite/Onsite team from an Staff availability during P1/P2 issues, escalation management
Produce reports and validation of SLA adherence on availability, System Performance, Problem tracking, etc
Experience in providing technical support in IT Infrastructure services and End-user computing
Must have experience in Monitoring Tools
CCNA / CCNP certifications are preferable
Strong understanding of OSI, TCP/IP Model, L2 & L3 networking technologies
Any Certification on Network +, RHSA, Security + or AWS certified
REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Information Security or equivalent experience
2+ years Server Monitoring/NOC experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
2-6 years of hands-on technical experience in a support role, preferably within a NOC environment
Working knowledge of networking concepts
Ability to navigate within Windows and Linux environments
