The Role

We are seeking a Lead Production Management—series to oversee the production of Netflix Original scripted and unscripted series in India. Reporting to the Director of Production Management & VFX—India, this role will manage all operational aspects of series production, from development to delivery, while contributing to Netflix’s overall content strategy in India.

This role combines hands-on production management with strategic leadership, requiring a holistic view of the slate to align production decisions with Netflix India’s business goals. The Lead will work closely with the Lead Production Management – Films & South to develop and implement cohesive production strategies, ensuring seamless operations across all formats.

A key focus of this role is team leadership—mentoring team members, fostering collaboration, and building a high-performing Production Management team that operates with trust, transparency, and accountability. The ideal candidate will balance creative ambition with operational efficiency to deliver high-quality series that resonate with audiences.

Responsibilities

Production Oversight and Budget Management

Development And Setup

• Provide early guidance for projects in development, helping PSCs align production plans with Netflix’s creative and operational goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Creative Executives & Business and Legal Affairs, to set up productions and ensure alignment with Netflix’s creative goals and operational standards.
• Work with external partners, including Executive Producers (EPs), Showrunners, and PSCs, to guide vendor selection, staff key Heads of Departments, and prepare budgets and schedules.

Script And Budget Review

• Review creative and script requirements to assess feasibility, identify risks, and guide PSCs on budgetary and scheduling decisions.

Monitoring And Execution

• Partner with Production Finance to monitor costs, review weekly cost reports and ensure budgets are managed effectively while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Oversee productions to ensure they meet deadlines, stay within budget, and maintain high creative and technical standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with internal Netflix teams, including Creative, Post, VFX, Finance, Legal, Music, and Health & Safety, to establish clear workflows, resolve risks, and ensure seamless communication across projects to meet creative and operational goals.

Team Leadership

• Co-lead the Production Management (PM) team, mentoring team members to develop future leaders and fostering a culture of trust, resilience, and accountability.
• Represent the PM team cross-functionally within the Production Org and across Netflix teams, advocating for clear communication and alignment on production strategies.

Macro and Strategic Oversight

• Maintain a big-picture view of the slate to ensure productions align with Netflix India’s creative and business goals.
• Work closely with the Lead, Production Management – Films & South to align strategies, share best practices, and streamline processes across all formats.
• Focus on improving production workflows by analysing trends and aligning strategies with industry best practices.
• Contribute to Netflix’s initiatives by supporting production training programs and mentoring production talent.

Key Skills And Experience

• 15+ years of experience in production management, with significant expertise in long-form scripted series production.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple series projects across various stages of production.
• Deep understanding of series production workflows, including HD, 4K, single-cam, and multi-cam formats.
• Established network of vendors, talent, and Production Service Companies (PSCs) in India.
• Proven track record of managing and mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and building trust across cross-functional partners.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to balance big-picture goals with operational needs.
• Proficiency in tools such as Movie Magic Budgeting, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Commitment to fostering safe and inclusive production environments in collaboration with Netflix’s Health & Safety and Inclusion teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
