Oportun. Inc Hiring for Sr. Security Engineer – Cloud Security at Chennai, India Full Time

Oportun is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering Team. This experienced engineer will help to maintain and to improve our cloud security posture. The right candidate will be a balance between a technical expert and a person who can understand and support Oportun’s business priorities and risk appetite. This individual must operate with a high degree of autonomy, accountability and maturity.

The Sr. Security Engineer will be a part of high performing CISO organization that delivers solutions to reduce technical risk, protect the business and enable growth. This is an individual contributor role with the option of being fully remote and reports to the Director of Security. Technical aptitude, multi-tasking, and strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster cooperation and trust across groups are key success factors for this role.

• Install, configure, integrate, and train others on cloud security solutions

• Identify and help remediate cloud security vulnerabilities

• Define and implement appropriate policies for cloud security solutions

• Conduct security risk assessments and help manage remediation plans to completion

• Own cloud security architecture in collaboration with other team members and functional areas

• Assist in the investigation and remediation of security incidents and issues

• Consult on and provide security requirements for critical projects and initiatives

• Conduct technical research when necessary and contribute to our cloud security strategy

• Develop positive partnerships and work closely with other team members and stakeholders to align and execute on infrastructure changes in a secure manner to support the organization’s tools, apps, and processes

• Work closely with DevOps teams and provide cloud security guidance

• Participate in simulated attacks to assess the organization’s cyber resiliency

• 6+ years of Cloud Security experience (preferably in AWS)

• Relevant Cloud Security certifications such as CCSP, GSA, AWS Certified Security — Specialty, etc.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and/or work experience

• Proven track record of delivering cloud at scale while leveraging Secure-SDLC practices

• Experience with modern agile engineering approaches and focus on operational excellence

• Data-driven approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses

• Experience with regulatory and industry standards such as PCI DSS, CIS Controls, NIST CSF, SOC 2, etc.

• Flexible, self-motivated, and results-oriented team player with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, global environment

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral / written communication skills
