Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is a ground-up effort to build Infrastructure-as-a-Service that operates at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. We are seeking a leader with strong product management experience in the modern application architectures and virtual networking / software defined networking and security to drive innovative and highly scalable products.
In this role you will be responsible for defining and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure virtual networking products and drive the product strategy for enabling cloud native applications. As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications, suggest and justify product directions and specifications for executive approval. Other responsibilities include development of new concepts and definition and synthesis of business requirements from internal and external stakeholders, writing product definitions and driving project milestones from design to release. You will lead and coordinate efforts between cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class capabilities on OCI. You will be expected to assess appropriate trade-offs to optimize customer experience, time-to-market, and to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal stakeholders and remote teams.
The right candidate will possess leadership experience in product management and operate in a player-coach model to hot the ground running and scale the product team in India bases on business need. The requires a strong Product Management background, an ability to work with customers and sales to capture and write product requirements, have experience launching multiple customer-facing products and features preferably in the cloud networking domain. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, strong business judgment, a customer-centric mindset, negotiation skills, ability to influence and analytical talent are essential to succeed in this role.
The individual in this role will report the VP, product management for networking services and act as a trusted advisor to identify skills gaps and scale the team to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify gaps and hire a team of skilled product management talent to scale the business
Identify, define and prioritize product features and functions
Write business requirements and user stories to provide design and development direction to UX design and Dev teams
Create product roadmaps for executive review
Collaborate with UX design and Dev teams to iterate and refine deigns
Define, measure and manage customer experience and business performance metrics for stakeholders
Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent team’s ability to execute
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
8+ years of experience as hands-on product manager for networking/security products and services targeting enterprise customers, including significant leadership experience
Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
Expertise in networking services (Firewall, LB, monitoring solutions, VMW, CNI, DNS, Multi cloud orchestration)
Strong writing and communications skills
Ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast paced environment
