This position is for Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) product development/architecture team and you will be part of Oracle Communication Application Global Business Unit (CAGBU)
In the capacity of Senior Principal Engineer, you will assist in building the SaaS based billing and revenue management product using latest cloud technologies. You will be a key player in building distributed, scalable, fault tolerant software system in support of our business needs and end customer. You will participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD and production operations and will be directly reporting to Senior Director of software Development.
Qualified candidates for this role will:

• Analyze designs, develop, test and implement innovative solutions to ensure a high level of quality, robustness, scalability and performance while meeting delivery schedule commitments.
• Work with cross functional teams in Quality, Documentation, Performance, Program Management to achieve agreed upon results, coordinating and working closely with remote teams to meet the needs of the project.
• Play a pro-active role to make the customer successful by addressing customer questions and issues
• Architect and design BRM systems for SaaS deployment model
• Design and develop highly flexible common components and APIs that enable product customizability and extensibility.
• Help with BRM product’s transition to micro-service and cloud-based architecture.
• Owns consistency and high quality in solution delivery
• Participates in architecture and design reviews for projects that require complex technical solutions
• Develops and promote architectural best practices and standards, Raise the bar on engineering practices and code quality.
• Provide input into plans and work closely with the development manager to ensure project success
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, product management and development teams
• Implement Proof-of-Concepts
• Participate in deep architectural discussions with customers, partners and Oracle field personnel to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Lead the next generation architecture and technology choices for Oracle’s flagship product BRM

Skills & experience:
Qualified candidates for this role will possess:

• Proven technical expertise in SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and Digital Transformation related topics
• Holistic knowledge of cloud solutions and respective use-cases
• Experienced cloud engineer with a proven track record of delivering high-scale, high-impact solutions
• 12+ years of experience shipping scalable, cloud native distributed systems
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
• Strong grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)
• Proficient in at Java/C++, Helidon, WebLogic, Kafka, REST API
• Experience with container orchestration like: Kubernetes/Docker, experience working on Helm Charts, etc.
• Experience with Coherence, Redis or similar distributed cache and exposure to server less deployments
• Knowledge of Git, Gradle and Jira.
• Production experience with Cloud and ML technologies
• Data science and machine learning knowledge would be helpful but not required
• Good exposure to digital communication service providers, billing and revenue management, charging and rating domain.
• Excellent understanding to TM Forum Open Digital Architecture and Open API concepts
• Excellent understanding of recurring billing and subscription management

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
