Job Profiles

PIF is looking for a dynamic and result oriented Business Development Manager with a strong understanding of the policy ecosystem to lead and expand the organization’s strategic partnerships, fundraising efforts, and stakeholder engagement. This role is ideally for someone who combines a sharp commercial acumen with a passion for public policy and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporates, foundations, multilateral agencies, government departments, and academic institutions.
• Fundraising & Proposal Development: Design and lead fundraising initiatives, including drafting proposals, concept notes. .
• Donor Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective donors and funding partners.
• Business Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve funding goals aligned with PIF’s research priorities.
• Event & Program Development: Support the planning of high-level policy dialogues, workshops, and roundtables in collaboration with donors and partners.
• Internal Coordination: Collaborate with the research and communications teams to align business development goals with project implementation and outreach strategies.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor policy trends, funding opportunities, and stakeholder priorities to proactively position PIF for relevant engagements.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

• MBA (Marketing / Strategy / Development Management / Public Policy) from a reputed institution. Additional qualifications in public policy or development studies are a plus.

Experience:

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in business development, fundraising, or partnership roles in a think tank, development organization, CSR unit, or consultancy.
• Proven track record of successfully raising funds and building partnerships.

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal)
• Should be willing to travel to meet with prospective donors and funders
• Understanding of the Indian policy landscape and development ecosystem
• Ability to develop high-quality proposals and presentations
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Professional maturity and the ability to work with senior stakeholders
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools

Remuneration – Compensation will be commensurate with experience and industry norms based on candidate’s qualification and skill set.
