Your Career

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with creative and innovative problem-solving skills with good experience in infrastructure automation covering Platform, Compute, Storage, Network etc.. This position is responsible for automation development in Palo Alto Networks’ (PANW) infrastructure for all enterprise, partner, and customer facing services. A successful candidate for this role will have strong Technical and organization skills. You will work with a team of senior level Engineers writing high quality software code to create highly reliable infrastructure automation. We are seeking a software engineer with a passion for automation and aptitude for building scalable distributed systems.

Your Impact

• Design, develop and implement Platform automation tools like VM lifecycle management, DNS automation, Identity & Access Management automation, large scale certificate management infrastructure automation etc.

• Strategize and implement the build, model, analyze and monitor process for PANW’s current and next generation infrastructure

• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to automate various processes, build software infrastructure for monitoring and analysis – provide data points for capacity planning and architecture change analysis

• Creatively utilize your hands-on experience with Cloud technologies, container/virtualization technologies, system software, to build and automate on Cloud Infrastructure

Your Experience:

• 3+ years experience in software development and infrastructure automation with a focus on scalability and reliability

• Must have expert knowledge & 4+ years of experience working in Python/Go/ruby – Working knowledge of MySQL databases

• Good knowledge of devops tools & processes such as Github, Jenkins, jFrog, Docker and exposure to cloud infrastructure like GCP/AWS/Azure

• Proficient in CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, CircleCI, build and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible

• Expert knowledge of Linux/Unix

• Preferred – Basic knowledge of javascript & other frontend frameworks

• Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive – Critical thinking and analytical approach to problem solving

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling high volume transactions

• Passion for automation and to learn, understand, & dissect new technology stack

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

• BE/B.tech Engineering degree, relevant technical degree, or relevant experience
