Full Job Description
Position Summary

The Senior BI Admin is part of a team responsible for supporting Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), custom reporting, and the organization’s on-demand data needs. Under the direction of the EDW Systems Manager, you will administrator the Tableau server settings, all sites on the server, users and groups, and all content assets, such as projects, data sources, and workbooks to monitor and maintain overall server health.

Responsibilities

Configuring and maintaining the Tableau Server Software Layer

Administering the Tableau system, including the site creation, server maintenance, upgrades, applying patches, performance tuning, managing licensing, backing up the Server, adding and managing nodes in a cluster, managing security and authentication(including SSL)

Monitoring overall server health including server usage patterns, process status (up/down/failover), job status (success/failure), disk drive space, and stale content to identify possible performance issues and enhancements

Assigning permissions for users, creating groups for specific projects, turning data into visual representations with views and workbooks, and monitoring activity on the Tableau server.

Managing and supporting the migration of objects (dimensions, measures, hierarchies, reports, workbooks, dashboards) progressively from development to production environments.

Provide appropriate training and support to business users on the use of Tableau interactive web reports, and Tableau Desktop

Work closely with data engineers to ensure optimal application and data database/warehouse design to support reporting requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

Due to this position’s nature, the applicant will need to work from home or during off-hours as necessary. Candidates must have:

5 -7 years of experience in DWH/BI working with the business community producing analytical reports/dashboards, predictive analytics, ROI calculations demonstrating the value of BI

Experience as Tableau administrator, developing, configuring, and administering Tableau Server and optimizing Tableau Server’s performance.

Knowledge of Relational Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and dimensional data modeling

Knowledge in cloud platforms like AWS or GCP

Basic knowledge of Linux & Python

Ability to learn new technologies quickly

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills

Strong verbal and written communications skills (English)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related disciplines
