Senior Architect – Cloud and Database technologies

In this role, you have the opportunity to Work as an Individual Contributor working independently exploring, evaluating and building services with latest technologies and cloud platforms. Be a proven, hands-on expert in design and conceptualizing cloud-native and large-scale distributed services using latest technology stacks, who is also in frequent interaction with developer communities. You would also work along with a Team of Principal Architects of Health Suite Platform to design, build and deliver world class clinical and consumer Connected Health Ecosystem from on-premises to Cloud. You are responsible for

• Identifying and dissecting a problem or an opportunity, evaluating latest best of breed technologies and creating high level designs, orchestrating an execution/adoption plan for the Team
• Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design with hands-on approach by implementing proof of concepts and evaluations
• Responsible to create system architecture that handles system qualities of scalability, reliability, and performance for the envisioned service or technology usage
• Identifying Tech Debt, Technology obsoleteness and working with the Principal Architects in coming up with migration and mitigation plans for complex system components
• Participating in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards
• Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services for the cloud, Mentoring other engineers

You are a part of The Philips HealthSuite R&D organization, part of Innovation & Strategy, which delivers an open, cloud-based healthcare platform fostering an open and collaborative innovation focused on developing breakthrough health, wellness and life science solutions that will transform the way care is delivered. This role is specifically part of PSPO (Platform Service Product Owners) team with members from Netherlands, India and US working with state-of-the-art technologies and practices. The Health Suite Platform is a highly scalable, cloud-architected PaaS that abstracts the complexities of technology from the solution of distributed healthcare that is patient focused. The HSP leverages advanced industry best practices and novel solutions for authorization and authentication; data modeling, ingestion, and normalization using various technologies; federation; rules and workflow engines; continuous monitoring and support – essentially a high performance, cloud-architected, highly scalable open eco-system delivering time-sensitive mission critical solutions for patient care both within the healthcare environment and in the ambulatory space. To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience: Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• 12+ years of professional software development experience
• 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Nodejs, Python including object-oriented design
• 4+ years of experience contributing to the software architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience in building a cloud-enabled services deployed at scale on AWS is required.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in convincingly communicating with Technical Architects, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
• Experiencing mentoring other engineers and driving engineering excellence
