Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated cloud engineer with solid foundational knowledge and experience. You will work closely with senior engineers to maintain and improve our cloud infrastructure, applications, and services that power our hands-on training platform. A solid foundation in Linux and Cloud technologies is required. You don’t need to have all the answers, but you should be able to work independently for most tasks. Experience you’ll need:
6+ years of Cloud Operations, Linux Administration, or similar experience
Experience working with one or more major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Strong systems administration skills, especially with Linux Operating Systems
Proficient with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.)
Familiarity with databases and writing queries (SQL)
Experience with creating and maintaining custom automations and/or using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Packer, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
Ability to quickly analyze and comprehend new or unfamiliar technologies or ideas.
Understanding of DevOps mentality, tools, and concepts
What you’ll own:
As a Cloud Engineer with an interest in automation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving, you will be responsible for monitoring our environments, servers, and applications for health, performance, and security. You will work with our talented engineering teams to create meaningful outcomes for our end users.
Documenting standard processes, tasks, environments, automations, etc.
Managing resources across multiple cloud providers
Building and improving cloud infrastructure automation tools
Analyzing cost and usage data to ensure end users are not misusing resources.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues with cloud deployment templates, automations, tools, and services
Working with senior team members to design and implement solutions for complex issues.
