About Role

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Advisor to prepare US indirect tax returns; monitor clearing of GST/QST accounts; perform reconciliations; provide assistance to customers and monitor updates to procedure documents, support audits and other tasks related to indirect tax compliance. This role is a great opportunity for an individual to be involved in indirect tax compliance for various tax jurisdictions.

Reporting line: US Country Lead – Indirect Tax

Scope: Your scope will include (but not limited to) below:

• Preparing, calculating and lodging of indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions and tax types within the US, sales & use tax and other indirect taxes
• Providing assistance with maintaining Vertex tax logic
• Support audits
• Monitor/maintain DTP’s (desktop procedures) which guide us and our outsource partners
• Reconcile GL accounts in Blackline
• Support other team members in ad hoc tasks
• Participating in other tasks as required related to indirect tax compliance
• Process improvement initiatives
• Training – support of activities with other advisors

About Yourself

We are looking for passionate candidates having:

• A Graduate Qualification (Finance, Accounting)
• 5+ years of relevant indirect tax experience
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, functions and formulas – able to efficiently manipulate and summarize data using functions and formulas
• Possess strong orientation to detail, assuming ownership of projects and deliver on deadlines in a short period of time
• Experience with SAP, Blackline, Vertex, Power BI and Power Query (Desirable)
• Experience in a medium to large commercial organization (Desirable)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze and define business problems, to identify appropriate operational or process solutions.
• Ability to adapt to change, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
