Position Name: LMS Associate
Location: Remote; based in India
Time Estimate: 80-100 hours per month, 20 hours/week for 12 months
Seva Foundation is a global nonprofit eye care organization that transforms lives by restoring sight and preventing blindness. Since 1978, Seva has provided sight-saving surgeries, eyeglasses, medicine, and other eye care services to more than 40 million people in underserved communities around the world.
Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a vision impairment, and of these, at least 1 billion people have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed.
Our programs have been instrumental in making eye care available to those who can’t afford it. They are driven by 4 pillars – establishing self-sustaining vision centers, eye care for kids, bringing the best in technology, and training and job creation. Seva believes that restoring sight is one of the most cost-effective ways to relieve suffering and reduce poverty. When a blind person gets her sight back, she can go back to work and earn and support her family.
In more than 20 countries, Seva has helped nearly 5 million people who were blind to regain their sight.
Background
Seva works with more than 100 eye hospitals around the world to strengthen their capacity to provide quality, comprehensive eye care services. To further learning opportunities and capacity strengthening for partner hospital staff, Seva developed an online learning management system “InSight”.
Role
Seva is looking for a Learning Management System (LMS) Associate with a flair for e- learning technologies and fluency in English. An experience in Healthcare or Education
Sector and a willingness to learn and implement a competency-based training experience for
Eye Care Health workers is required. This position is responsible for the support, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of training content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions.
Key Responsibilities (Also refer Annexure 1: Deliverables)
1. LMS User management.
1.1. User life cycle management: Create user accounts. Add, Delete, and Deactivate accounts
1.2. Assign users to team(s), Assign course(s) or learning path(s)
1.3. Send nudges after high-impact training. Gather feedback and training impact data.
2. LMS Report management.
2.1. Create and report monthly, quarterly and annual trends for users, teams, course(s) and competencies.
2.2. Dashboarding user traffic and course consumption metrics.
3. Learning Asset Management. Upload and/or create online course assets including
3.1. Learning objectives, introduction, summary, videos, slides, quizzes and mind maps.
3.2. Course completion certificates, discussion forum posts, nudges, boosts
3.3. Revise or repair existing courses and delete or deactivate old courses
3.4. Video Lectures – Basic editing and mixing (with text and infographics).
3.5. Video closed captioning (transcription); Lecture scripting (Speech to text)
3.6. Language Translations (English to other languages)
3.7. Sound editing and mixing, remove noise, adding background score
4. Training Communication management
4.1. Send reports to stakeholders like executive summary reports of training events, webinars and online courses, Feedback reports, Knowledge assessment reports.
4.2. Share success stories and training event reports with photos and testimonials
5. Training Event and Logistics Management
5.1. Schedule and calendar training events, online and in-person.
5.2. Manage pre-training, during training and post training activities. For example, sending invitations. Registering people for Zoom sessions. Sending polls and quizzes.
6. Learner Experience Management. Manage the experience from pre-training to post-training.
6.1. Sending invitations for online courses.
6.2. Engaging learners on LMS discussion forums.
6.3. Sending polls and surveys for asynchronous and blended training.
7. Other Miscellaneous activities
7.1. Creating and distributing certificates of training completions.
7.2. Managing the competency architecture (Skill map and training recommendations)
