Job Description:

Accountabilities: The following are the Key accountabilities for this position:

• Preparation of Month End Financials consisting of crisp and concise summary and Key focus areas

• Supporting Monthly and Quarterly LE submissions/support through Accurate and timely commentary and LE submissions into R1 / BPC

• Handling complete deliverables (OP/LE/Mis ) of identified KPIs

• Understanding of Balance Sheet and Working Capital to provide actionable heads up for timely decisions

• Handle unstructured and ad-hoc requests from different teams

• Play an active role in CI / Standardization efforts

• Operating Shell’s Internal control framework and ensure achieve Operational Effectiveness of Key SOX and Non-SOX controls for the associated activities being carried out

• Participate/ drive Financial Statement reviews to identify Financial/ Business risk

Skills & Requirements:

Understand the key levers for Costs and other components of the financial statements. Drive/Explore data analysis opportunities to provide meaningful insights to the Asset Leadership Team. Support team members during the month/quarter close and other peak periods in order to accomplish the tasks within the agreed timeline

• This position involves a significant Individual responsibility covering Upstream businesses of Canada

• Stakeholder Group – BFM/ Finance Advisors, BPM/PAR team, Technical manager/team, Operations manager/team, Controllers/Accounting team, PAR

• Professionally qualified (CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA, CA, CMA) with 2+ years post qualification experience in Accounting, Reporting and MI roles. Other suitable candidates may also be considered

• Prior experience in the Planning and Appraisal space would be preferred.

• Interact/Collaborate with senior Finance/Business stakeholders

• Highly developed Finance and Business analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Clear and concise English communication, both orally and in writing, is a must

• Creativity & innovativeness in problem solving and seeking solutions

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop strong relationships with staff at all levels.

• Prior experience in SAP, Business Warehouse and BPC (R1) is desirable.

• Advanced skills on Microsoft applications (especially on Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

• Sound knowledge on Accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS etc.)

Additional Information : The Incumbent will be working in a 2PM to 11PM (IST) shift but should be flexible enough to accommodate time zones during the critical time periods like, Month/Quarter end work, Quarterly LE exercise, OP submission etc.
