Brief about Business Unit –

Manuscript Services belongs to the Publishing Solutions vertical and consists of highly educated Subject Matter Experts in various fields of Science. All team members have studied their subject field up to Masters level and know what is going on in Science. StoA Workstream assists in handling manuscripts from submission to acceptance & handing over to Production on peer review system ensuring quick initial qc & EBM securing followed by efficient peer review process.

Job Title – Junior Editorial Advisor/ Editorial Advisor

Job Location: Magarpatta City, Pune – India

(Work from home until further notice)

Team: Manuscript Services – StoA Workstream

Years of Experience: 0 to 3 Years

What we are looking for:
Educational Qualification –

Masters in any discipline of life science.

Key Responsibilities –

Perform quality check (QC) on submitted/amended/revised Manuscripts as per EA guidelines

Inviting and securing Editorial Board Member (EBM) for the manuscript

Communication with authors & editors

Responsible for handling manuscript related queries from authors

Handle queries from peers (EAs) or highlight them to team leaders/trainers

Coaching/mentoring new team members

Sharing knowledge and best practices with peers/team

Identify and suggest process improvement

Discuss challenging manuscripts with peers

Upgrading personal skillset through various training courses relevant to the job role

Tracking and completion of tasks within timeline

Follow timelines and deliver within SLA

Day at work –

The day begins with interactions with Trainers and Leads on updates/changes (if any) received from Springer colleagues

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) check the workflow/Peer Review systems for any unfinished/incomplete tasks

SMEs process manuscripts from the workflow/Peer Review system

Discusses challenging papers with peers

Working on User acceptance testing interface for technological enhancements

Participates in Fun committee events which happen regularly

SME’s also work on User acceptance testing interface for technological enhancements and other adhoc projects

SMEs are encouraged to proactively identify improvements in the process and implement them and keep self-updated on new journals, system upgrades and developments in the workflow
