.In depth US Mortgage domain knowledge – 4C’s of Underwriting & able to review, verify, analyze, validate the documents relating to 4 C’s & perform necessary calculation.
Strong Analytical skills

System skills – Computer savvy & proficient in excel.
Typing speed of 30-40 WPM

Graduate in any field

In-depth knowledge of Fannie and Freddie guidelines with most recent updates. Proficient in reviewing and analyzing DU & LP loans
Hands on experience on conventional, FHA & VA loans, Agency, Non-Agency & Jumbo loans for Retail & Correspondent channels
Able to validate requirements for the loans based on the transaction (Purchase, Refinance) and occupancy (Primary, Second home and Investment)
Should be able to understand / Analyze the Underwriting Findings and Conditions
Review and validate borrower’s employment and personal information from legal documents
Review and analyze and validate mortgage documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness
Verify accuracy of supporting employment documents, source of down payment/reserves, appraisal value and property title commitment received. Calculation of income, assets, liabilities, DTI on the loan
Review, validate & verify all types of income documents and calculate income from all sources which include wage earner, self-employment income, rental income, pension, social security income etc.
Complete Full review of collateral, income, asset, & liability / credit review and determine whether loan can be Approved or declined.
Review the loan from compliance and regulatory requirements
Assess the credit risk on the file basis the documents submitted by the borrower and vendor
Make recommendations to the customer / borrower on alternative loan structure / counteroffer basis loan scenario
Review and clear the conditions on the loan file
Managing Underwriting pipeline basis initial review, condition review and closing requirement review
