This role is open across multiple locations: Sanand, Dharwad, Jamshedpur, Pune, Lucknow, Pantnagar & Mumbai.

Purpose of the Position:

This role is responsible to advise, consult and coordinate with the factory management to ensure zero accident thereby maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for the employees. Foresee emerging safety standards and plan for capability building to check proper implementation of the same. Provide the manufacturing entities with functional guidance and technical expertise on S &H related issues. Develop and Deliver policies, procedures, auditing, training, communications, and educational materials to promote increased understanding, appreciation and adherence to safe operating practices throughout the workplace to ensure compliance with TML standards and government regulations. Support effective governance of the Safety Management system to the site.

Job Responsibility:

Process Orientation

1. Advise, consult and coordinate with the factory management to ensure zero accident thereby maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for the employees
2. To advise the concerned departments in a factory in planning and organizing measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries.
3. Participation in development and implementation of Occupational Health & Safety Management System at respective Plant.
4. Formation & Implementation of TML Safety group standards, as well as deployment of safety policy within his scope of his responsibility
5. Development and implementation of risk mitigation programs
6. Preparation and submission of Safety reports in compliance with the local legislation.
7. Development and supervision of functioning of occupational health and safety management system in the company in line with the governmental regulatory requirements of Employee protection, with goals and tasks of the company, recommendations of the national and TML standards for OHS.
8. Elaboration of proposals for making the measures to improve working conditions and employee protection more efficient.
9. Provision of methodological assistance to the Shop Heads of the respective Plant in working out new and revision of existing guidelines for Employee protection, as well as accomplishment of programs for training the employees in safe working techniques and methods.
10. Taking the improvement measures to raise the level of working conditions and Employee protection Organization of work, aimed at investigation, gradual reduction and prevention of industrial injury cases and occupational diseases in TML.
11. Contractor Safety Management as per the TML Standard.
12. Organization of preparation of the primary notification regarding incidents for information of TML Group’s management and coordination of the process of investigation of incidents.
13. Formation, development and management of SAFETY team in respective Plant.
14. Organization of the process for compliance with safety requirements by the workers of respective Plant, as well as by contractors and subcontractors.
15. Support Management on effective implementation of all TML Safety systems viz., Road Safety (Defensive Driving), Contractor Safety, LOTO, Machine Guarding etc.
16. National Safety & Road Safety Celebration.
17. Continuous Incident Analysis and planning action.
18. Support in finalizing Safety Targets

Accident Reporting, Investigation & Prevention

1. Ensure all accidents / High potential occurrences (safety/ environment) are reported, investigated by the teams (and be a part of investigation team, if required), and lessons learnt are shared across the all plants.
2. To upkeep and monitor the system for incidents reporting and investigation.
3. Monitor statistical summaries of the Respective Plant and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.

Proactive Safety Index Monitoring

1. Modifications and Analysis of Proactive Safety Index
2. MIS of Respective Plant – Leading & Lagging Indicators
3. Safety Portal Improvements with TTL & All Plants – II, SO, CM, CSM, Ingo LM etc.
4. Preparing SHE APEX Meeting , Quarterly SHS Committee meeting

Support Safety Management

1. Kaizen Monitoring of and sharing Recommendations for HD
2. Connecting with vendors for all 3rd party activities like Training, Creatives etc.

People Management

1. Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that functional objectives are met.
2. Ensure timely resolutions for all the queries and issues.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:

1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Masters in Industrial Safety
2. Must have recognized qualification in Safety Management / Safety Engineering (Diploma In Industrial safety)

Relevant Experience:

1. 12 – 18 years
2. Experience working in automobile industry at plant handling safety of shopfloor employees and their working conditions.
3. The incumbent is required to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment. Understands and meets internal and external business needs with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
4. Must be able to balance conflicting priorities and still provide the organization with clear direction and focus.
5. Must possess leadership and communication ability which encourages teamwork and idea generation while remaining focused on results and process improvement.
6. The incumbent must work safely and ensure compliance with all local, state and central legislation and TML standards, Policies, Guidelines.

4. 15 years of practical experience in SAFETY Management of Organization like employing more than 3000 Employees.
5. Knowledge of OHS rules and norms, industrial safety, fire protection rules and norms of the national legislation of India and Contractor Safety Management.
6. Knowledge of professional standards like ISO 45001 & 14001.
7. Knowledge of methods for SAFETY risks assessment, such as HAZOP, HAZID, etc.
8. Knowledge of practices for incident investigation, such as, Five Whys
9. Demonstrates leadership abilities, teamwork, communication and analytical skills.
10. A thorough knowledge on computer & skills with a working knowledge of analytics and associated software packages.
11. Time management skills needed to maintain deadlines.
12. Experience in holding negotiations, meetings, and communications at the top management level.
13. Experience in preparation of executive reports.
