We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Packaging Technologist to join our dynamic team. As a Packaging Technologist, you will play a vital role in the development and execution of packaging solutions for our products. Your expertise in packaging materials, design, and regulations will contribute to the success of our product launches and overall brand image.

Responsibilities:
Packaging Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Marketing, and Operations, to design and develop innovative and functional packaging solutions for our cosmetic products. This includes primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.

Material Selection: Conduct extensive research and analysis to identify suitable packaging materials, considering factors such as product compatibility, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in packaging materials within the cosmetic industry.

Packaging Design: Collaborate with graphic designers, brand managers, and external packaging suppliers to create aesthetically appealing and on-brand packaging designs. Ensure that the packaging designs align with the brand guidelines and target market preferences.

Prototyping and Testing: Coordinate the prototyping and testing of packaging materials and designs to assess their performance, durability, and functionality. Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications as necessary.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations, guidelines, and industry standards related to packaging in the cosmetic industry, such as FDA regulations, labeling requirements, and sustainability initiatives. Ensure that all packaging materials and designs adhere to these regulations.

Supplier Management: Collaborate with packaging suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality packaging materials. Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to resolve any packaging-related issues and drive continuous improvement.

Cost Optimization: Work closely with the procurement team to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality or functionality of the packaging. Conduct regular cost analyses and provide recommendations for optimizing packaging-related expenses.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of packaging specifications, test reports, and relevant regulatory compliance records. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on packaging development progress, performance, and recommendations for management review.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in packaging technology is a plus.

Proven experience as a Packaging Technologist or in a similar role within the cosmetic industry.

Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and manufacturing processes specific to the cosmetic industry.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to packaging in the cosmetic industry, such as FDA regulations and sustainability initiatives.

Proficiency in using packaging design software and tools, such as CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar applications.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.

Knowledge of sustainability practices and emerging trends in sustainable packaging is highly desirable.
