Job Title: Tax Analyst II

Job Location: Mumbai

Reporting to (optional) : Manager – Tax

Role & Responsibilities

Purpose: – To support the USD 400M business in the areas of various Indirect Tax aspects such as GST compliance, litigation, assessments, and audits, and be part of the India Taxation team of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the tax compliance calendar to ensure that all returns and other indirect tax filings are submitted timely

• Preparing monthly liability statement and payment of GST

• Review of Classification of product into different HSN

• Preparing registers for all tax liabilities and Input Credit

• Filing online GST returns

• Reconciliation of GST Input Tax Credit b/w GSTR2A and Books

• Correspondence with Indirect Tax authorities

• Amendment in registration certificates

• Preparing schedules and working for Statutory / Tax Audit

• Compilation of submission for VAT/ GST Assessments

• Maintain Notice register and keeping track

• Preparing MIS for management

• Supporting Statutory Audit/Internal Audits

• Interact with various internal and external customers to gather the proper tax documentation and to resolve tax related issues.

• Actively participate in targeted initiatives to automate and simplify several processes in Indirect Taxation and focus to increase the efficiency in existing processes

Candidate Requirement:

Education & Experience levels:

• Chartered Accountant

Nature of experience:

• Should be at least 3-4 years of relevant work experience

• Experience in MNC organizations or Big4 audit firms preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Exposure in handling Tax department audits and assessments

• Candidate has been involved in process improvements/automation projects especially for indirect tax

• Should have done ledger scrutiny/ monthly reconciliation of tax returns s to GL balances

• Well versed with excel skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
