Job Description
Be part of our outstanding team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Database Administrator II. Contribute to our mission of improving global health and safety. Work in an exceptional IT role in Indianapolis.
Responsibilities:
Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to provide tailored solutions to our customers’ individual needs.
Learn and use groundbreaking technologies.
Work directly with Engineering Database Administrators to help resolve customer issues.
Ability to automate processes and procedures for new database environments.
Leverage your customer support experience to provide feedback to our business users.
Communicate and collaborate with users to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
Work with users to identify key issues, repetitive problems under the direction of project leaders.
Liaise between the business, technology teams, and support teams.
Participate in the Service Desk function to resolve user-related support calls.
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study, or equivalent experience.
3-5+ years of professional experience in a dynamic environment, with a strong emphasis on database services.
Experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, or 2019, Management Studios.
Experience with AWS, Azure, Windows.
Experience with Windows Cluster, AlwaysOn, replication, or active/passive database clusters.
Experience with operational tasks and customer focus.
Experience with systems development lifecycle.
Proficiency in backup and recovery at both OS and database levels.
Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment and independently.
