Job Description
Version 1 are winning extensive new business across a range of customers. We are seeking an IBM WebSphere Application Server Consultant working out of India to support one of our major new customers. This role will be part of a dedicated team providing services to this key customer, focusing on the WebSphere Application Server elements of the customer’s technology stack. You will work in a team based in the UK and India, delivering to a customer based in the UK.

Responsibilities
Working under a Senior WebSphere Application Server Consultant:
Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server on AWS and Linux environments for 3 applications across 60 servers.
Proactively monitor, report, troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve technical issues with WebSphereApplication Server.
Work with the Version 1 Application Support, Database Support and Platform Support teamsto resolve support issues.
Willing to be on the out-of-hours support team if and when required
Provide support to developers, testers and other stakeholders regarding the application server infrastructure.
Assist with migration of server environments.
Support key services and activities such as Disaster Recovery.
Have an appreciation of networking, authentication, messaging, database connectivity, Linux and AWS hosted services.
Work with the Security Team to ensure the application server infrastructure is secure and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Work within the Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management regimes for the overall service (ITIL standards).
Develop and implement automation scripts for routine tasks.
Participate in capacity planning and system design activities.
Log support requests with third-party vendors (e.g., PMRs) as required and manage them through to resolution.
Provide and maintain documentation to allow for robust support, smooth transition of projects and changes into support and enhancement of the onboarding experience for new team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience working as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.
Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server administration and configuration.
Familiarity with ITIL processes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication (both written and spoken English) and interpersonal skills.
Client-facing experience.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Security experience.
A keen interest in technology.Top of Form
