As a Senior Product Manager within the CDTO Product management team you’ll be at the forefront of defining and driving product strategy, identifying key outcomes, and driving to achieve success metrics across the Business Domain(s) that you are aligned to.
This role would offer you an opportunity to be results-driven, and customer-focused, transforming our Digital Growth Platform for Sales business domain which has a line of visibility to the Senior Leadership team.
You will have the opportunity to be a part of and drive VMware’s multi-year strategy for Sales Planning, Sales Execution, and Renewals Sales management by heading key initiatives and driving cross-functional alignments from Demand to Quote and Order to Cash.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Get a deeper understanding of the roadmaps currently in place for the Sales domain and review the plans for the roadmap with a strategic approach to problem-on hand
Develop a strong working relationship with business partners, which includes Business Franchisees, Business operations, Business functions, etc.
Influence and drive continuous improvements of product/solution development life cycle processes, practices, and initiatives
Strong execution of the roadmap with collaboration from Business Owners and Engineering teams
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Must have functional expertise on Sales domain including Sales Territory Planning, Quota Setting, Territory to Rep planning, Sales Compensation, Account Segmentation, Account Management, Opportunity Management, Sales Forecasting, Pipeline Management, Renewals Sales Management, and Sales Enablement
Must have sound knowledge on upstream and downstream business capabilities like Demand Generation, Quoting, and Order to Cash
Deeply understand, document, analyze, and synthesize user needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications
Engage with multiple business stakeholders to ensure clear and concise documentation of planned features as epics and user stories
Collaborate with engineering, business development, and data analytics teams to ship new, impactful platform capabilities that accelerate our time to value
Drive collaboration with your team by facilitating workshops and activities, aligning team members on product outcomes, bringing clarity where there is ambiguity, and keeping everyone aligned throughout the delivery
Identify critical assumptions, define experiments, measure success metrics, and use data to inform decisions
Utilize data analytics, research, product reviews, user feedback, and product testing to ensure consistency and quality across all end-user features
Collaborate with product line managers on cross-domain initiatives; track and mitigate product risks and participate in domain level discussions focused on – Marketing, Sales, Multi-tier RTM & Partner Management, Deal management & CPQ, offer, billing & payment, knowledge & enablement, Public clouds (such as AWS and Azure) and subscription lifecycle management
Grow and support a talented team of Product Managers and Product line Managers who take pride in building high-quality high-impact products, embody VMware’s EPIC2 values, and have fun together
Identify critical assumptions, define experiments, measure success metrics, and use data to inform decisions

The Senior Product Manager will be reporting to Snr Product Line Manager in Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) in VMware. The Snr Product Line Manager is a highly regarded Product Leader and leads a trailblazing team of deeply motivated Product Managers covering a breadth of Business domains like Sales, Professional Services, Knowledge, and Enablement.
The CDTO-Product Management leadership team comprises Product enthusiasts with strong business knowledge and technology pacesetters, with years of success in strategizing and leading organizations at the brink of SaaS transformation and growth. This creates a vibrant culture to learn from peers and provides an excellent support structure to excel.
