The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As a new member of the VMC Autoscaler Engineering team, you will:

• Work closely with product managers and UX designers in performing use case reviews and analyzing them to create responses from a technical point of view

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, SRE, and various other teams to develop new features and support their lifecycle.

• Produce technical documentation summarizing your proposed architecture, design, specs, and work with senior architects and other peers to get them reviewed and approved

• Develop Solutions, Applications, SaaS services, and REST APIs in Java.

• Use frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Postgres to build your applications on the cloud platform

• Follow Agile methodologies as you work with your team using 2-week sprints and plan for quarterly increments of development planning and execution

• Lead and mentor your teams into growing within their professional careers

• Fostering a strong culture based on innovation

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

This position reports to the Director of the VMC Autoscaler engineering team, who is an experienced Management professional and a VMware veteran. The team is distributed across the globe with Palo Alto, CA, and Bengaluru, India being the major development hubs. The team consists of highly competent engineers at various levels and from diverse backgrounds. Where is this role located?

Flexible: The location of this role is flexible within the Bengaluru region in India. Work will be done from an office in Bengaluru some days during a week and other days from a non-VMware building (or home office).
