Mechanical Engineering group at WITEC, supports a multitude of business units across the globe and various projects/product lines, in the mechanical design, drawing generation and finite element (FE) calculation areas. As a key member of this group dealing with providing design & detailing solutions for business problems & new development, the job responsibilities are laid out as hereunder:

Key Result Areas:
Generating and evaluating concepts for mechanical design for functionality, robustness and optimization

Modeling and preparation of drawings, on time and with high level of quality

Appropriate selection of components and materials including meeting Statutory and Regulatory requirements and ensuring reliability by robust validation.

Designing of parts with supporting calculations, IP and surface protection needs with good focus on design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/A) requirements

Maintaining and modifying Sheetmetal Designs to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient using computer-aided design/modelling software – CREO 4 & above

Conducting design reviews at various stages of development, carrying out DFMEA/FMECA, preparation of mandatory deliverables as required for Project or Product development phases

Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for problem solving during prototype development and field commissioning and evaluation

Interacting with Engineers / System Engineers / Project Managers both in India and with center of competence, during different phases of product/project execution

Ensuring cost competitiveness by active contribution to cost reduction and value engineering projects

To keep abreast of new developments in the field, to offer innovative and patentable solutions

Competencies: Professional:
Strong expertise in mechanical layout and design, fundamentals and design calculations

Strong experience in generating concepts, 3D modeling and detailing for parts and assemblies

Expertise in design of SS/AL sheet metal fabrication with adequate knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, riveting, surface treatment, corrosion protection, painting requirements

Proficiency in CREO /ProE with knowledge of sheet metal and piping module preferred

Good knowledge in drawings Standards, GD&T and its functional applications

Understand FEA results and its interpretation to design

The ability to work under pressure
